Pairing Wine with Kauai Food - Starfruit, Turmeric, Goat Cheese with Sancerre by Hippolyte Reverdy
Princeville Wine Market's Daniel Braun teams up with Grow Culture's Collin Darrell to pair wine with local foods. Today's food: "celery, a few different types of sprouts. We're going to do a salad. Take the starfruit and the turmeric to make a vinaigrette, and then feature some of our fresh local goat's cheese."
Daniel has recommended Hippolyte Reverdy, Sancerre (Loire, France) 2011 because "This is also a very mineral driven wine, it's all about that flintiness. It actually has a little bit of the starfruit character that I think is going to go well with the fruit in this dish. It's also a classic pairing with goat cheese as well."
