Kauai ATV Off-Road Spotlight - KVIC-TV, myKauai.com [Activity]
Darian visits Kauai ATV. While some visitors may hike through Kauai's interior, most tourists are only able to see Kauai from paved roads. Kauai ATV offers a look at the interior of the island via old plantation roads on their ATV and mudbug tours.
On the longer tour, "we cruise past the old sugar mill, then we go to the Haupu ridge-line. We have Wilcox tunnel, the only drivable tunnel on the island. Drive through the tunnel, and on the other side we have Kipu Valley. Head to the base of Mount Kahili. At Mount Kahili we have waterfalls, we go swimming, eat lunch and then come back. It's about 22 miles roundtrip."
As for the shorter tour, it's "a 3 hour tour and that's our Koloa tour. Again go to the ridge-line, talk about the tunnel, go to Kipu valley, and then come over this direction to the Waita reservoir - it's the largest inland body of water in the state of Hawaii."
"You'll get dirty on either one."
