Welcome to Tin Tin Teaches! In this video, hosted by Tin Tin Puulei, we will be learning how to weave coconut leaves to create a buggy whip. The buggy whip gets its name from its historical use in whipping horses behind chariots. Tin Tin demonstrates the process of splitting the leaves down the spine and folding them in a specific pattern.

To begin, Tin Tin folds the top leaf under and over, tucking it under the spine. The second leaf is folded in the opposite way, creating an under-over pattern. This pattern is repeated on both sides of the spine. Tin Tin then flips the leaves over and continues the pattern, folding them forward along the spine. The same steps are followed with the other leaf on top. The result is a beautiful pattern.

Throughout the video, Tin Tin emphasizes the importance of keeping the spine in between the weaves. This ensures a secure and visually pleasing final product. Tin Tin demonstrates the weaving process, continuously repeating the under-over pattern until reaching the end of the leaves.

Finally, Tin Tin shows how to tie off the buggy whip using a simple knot. The whip is tied securely, completing the weaving process. The end result is a cool patterned buggy whip, showcasing Tin Tin's craftsmanship and skills.
