Kauai Mini-Golf in Kilauea - KVIC-TV, myKauai.com [Activity] [Golf]
Lanae visits Kauai Mini-Golf.
Of all the golf courses on Kauai, only one focuses exclusively on developing a golfers short game while doubling as one of the best botanical gardens on the island.
From KauaiMiniGolf.com: "This is not your typical miniature golf course. There are no clown's mouths or windmills to shoot through. This 18 hole putting green style course is set amongst beautiful botanical gardens representing the different eras of Hawaii's culture."
"The first three holes is about native plants. It ranges from maile to koa to all the native plants that you can find on Kauai. The next three holes would be focused on polynesian plants - about 25 different plants that they brought with the canoe. Then we go through the plantation era, where you find sugarcane, pineapple, avocado, and so on. We also have a Japanese garden, and a Chinese garden, and to end off, we have a compilations of all the ethnicities, so you have all the exotics and all the different plants that we have from all over the world."
As for putting tips, Jack Baker explains: "We want to make sure we know what the putts going to do... your club face is going to be perpendicular to that line. Knowing it's a little shorter putt, we need a shorter stroke. If it were a longer putt we'd need a longer stroke."
